The records have most\nsurely a lot of valuable information about the past, as well as the family Turjak,\nand surely the most about the social history of our farmers and our village. [&#8230;]\nFind a man right now who will [&#8230;] keep the papers [&#8230;] in a safe deposit box\n[&#8230;] It is about every piece of paper, every book and every record. [&#8230;] As they\nare valuable national records, immediately do everything to save as many records\nas possible in the earliest of times.\u00ab During the war, despite shortages and\ndanger, the authorities took the time to take care of the archives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"761\" src=\"http:\/\/www.arhivsko-drustvo.si\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/okroznica2-1024x761.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4126\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.arhivsko-drustvo.si\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/okroznica2-1024x761.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.arhivsko-drustvo.si\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/okroznica2-300x223.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.arhivsko-drustvo.si\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/okroznica2-768x571.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.arhivsko-drustvo.si\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/okroznica2.jpg 1666w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption> Arhiv Republike Slovenije, SI AS 1644, Upravna komisija za osvobojeno slovensko ozemlje, fasc. 440\/2.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1954, efforts and care for archives led to the founding\nof the Archival Society of Slovenia, which in 1976 proclaimed 20 October as the\nSlovene Archives Day, based on a letter from 1943. The founding members were\naware that to carry out the programme of the society, which was necessarily connected\nwith the development of Slovene archives, they couldn&#8217;t merely rely only on themselves\nand will have to seek help from others, which is still true today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today is the Slovene Archives Day \u2013 of one national archive,\nsix regional and three church archives as well as two special archives.
